FLATONIA — Fayette County Sheriff’s Deputy Sgt. Ryan Meagher saw a male at the Amigos Country Store in Flatonia who he was familiar with through previous law enforcement interactions.
The man was on parole and a license check revealed the man had an felony warrant for possession of a controlled substance out of Leakey.
Sgt. Meagher attempted to arrest him for the warrant when he began to resist and a struggle ensued. The man was subdued by Sgt. Meagher. On April 21, Michael Gabriel Smith, 24, of Flatonia was arrested for the warrant and received an additional charge for Resisting Arrest/Search/ Transport.
