The bill's provisions apply to an exemption from jury service for a person summoned to appear service on or after the bill's effective date. This bill goes into effect on Sept. 1, 2023.

If you turn 70 after Sept. 1, 2023, you will not be eligible to obtain the permanent exemption from jury duty until you turn 75 years of age.
