Lady Horns suffers defeat after late comeback from Ganado

SCHULENBURG – Lady Horns basketball was defeated at Shorthorns Gym January 24 by Ganado High School with a final score of 38-33. Schulenburg possessed a double-digit lead late in the first half that slowly dwin- dled down throughout the contest due to Ganado’s shot making and clutch plays, resulting in a victo ry for the Lady Indians. Schulen- burg head girls basketball coach Phillip Eddins declined to com ment on the game.

SCHULENBURG — Lady Horns basketball was defeated at Shorthorns Gym January 24 by Ganado High School with a final score of 38-33. Schulenburg possessed a double-digit lead late in the first half that slowly dwin- dled down throughout the contest due to Ganado’s shot making and clutch plays, resulting in a victo ry for the Lady Indians. Schulen- burg head girls basketball coach Phillip Eddins declined to com ment on the game.

Schulenburg took a 9-4 lead in the first quarter with just un- der three and a half minutes to play on four layups and a free throw. After Ganado senior Jalai Foster hit a three-pointer at the 1:42 mark to put it at 11-9, Lady Horns junior small forward Hai- ley Goode responded with a nice drive around the Ganado defense on the baseline for a layup to close out the quarter with a 13-9 lead.

Schulenburg kept a strong pace in the second quarter by adding a 6-0 run with two layups, one being from junior power for- ward Brooke Redding, followed by two free throws from Red ding to take a 19-9 advantage.
