The Schulenburg High School boy’s basketball team is trying to salvage their season after a rough start and picked up a huge win Dec. 19 against Louise High School by a final score of 70-31. This is a team that is now 5-10 on the year after starting 2-9.
Head coach Rich Hoogendorn knows what it’s like to win, it’s just a matter of getting the team chemistry back together after graduating a bunch of se- niors on a strong 2022 team.
Key ballers for the Shorthorns are Rodney Walton, Jayse Janda, and Aaron Janecek, although Schulenburg depends on a lot of players for their success. There’s really not one player that stands out, it’s usually a team effort on a nightly basis. The Shorthorns look like they’re starting to get things figured out at the right time.
