CC Commissioners Court first meeting of the year

COLUMBUS — Colorado County Commissioners Court met for the first regular meeting of the year on Jan 8.

The agenda was a bit longer than usual, but the meeting was less than an hour.

The most noteworthy item was a Resolution of Respect for Herbert E. Helmcamp, Jr which read in part: Almighty God, in His wisdom, called our friend and associate Herbert “Herbie” Helmcamp, Jr. to his eternal home on November 21, 2023. Mr. Helmcamp faithfully served the Citizens of Colorado County as County Commissioner of Precinct No. 2 from Jan 1, 1999, to Dec. 31, 2010, with effectiveness and devotion, with honor to himself and his office.
