The March 5th election is a Primary, meaning that a political party holds the election. If you vote in the primary you will have to choose a party to affiliate your ballot with. In Colorado County, we hold Joint Primaries.
Both the Republican and the Democratic Party have their election in the same location using the same workers, and the county is contracted to administer the election. However, the parties declare any winners or run-offs.
