City of Columbus receives over $16 million in grants

COLUMBUS–The Texas General Land Office came to Columbus on April 2, hefting two big grant checks in the amount of $16,829,489 to be used on needed infrastructure repairs in the city.

COLUMBUS—The Texas General Land Office came to Columbus on April 2, hefting two big grant checks in the amount of $16,829,489 to be used on needed infrastructure repairs in the city.

The water treatment plant, which is in danger from erosion of the Colorado River bank, received the lion’s share of $15,811,189.

Improvements to the generator and drainage issues took in $1,018,300.
