BELLVILLE — The Austin County Sheriff's Office (ACSO) dispatch received a 911 emergency call on May 24. According to the press release, the caller reported that a shooting had occurred in the 700 block of Old Highway 36 of Bellville.
Austin County Sheriff's Office deputies, along with the Bellville Police Department, responded to the scene. Upon arrival, responding units located and detained a suspect in the residence's front yard. On scene, law enforcement located a female victim inside the residence that appeared to have been shot with a firearm. Austin County EMS assessed the victim and advised law enforcement that the female was deceased.
At this time, ACSO patrol deputies and supervisors secured the scene. Members of the ACSO Criminal Investigations Division and DPS Texas Rangers responded to the scene.
