LONGVIEW — Shiner’s Jason Keller and Paeden Vincik took top honors with the release of the Blue Bell/Texas Sports Writers Association Class 2A All-State Softball Team, the organization announced on Monday.
Keller, who led Shiner to a 33-3 record, was named Coach of the Year. Shiner defeated Craw- ford (4-3) in the state semifinals and won the Class 2A championship with a 10-4 victory over Beckville.
Vincik, a catcher, went 5-for-8 at the state tournament with a home run and four RBI to earn tournament MVP honors. For the season, Vincik hit .471 with a .546 on base percentage, an .895 slugging percentage, eight home runs, two triples, 17 doubles and 52 RBI.
