COLUMBUS - Friends of Nesbitt Memorial Library in Columbus will present a program highlighting the Lady Bird John- son Wildflower Center (LAJWC) on today (Thursday, July 18) at 2 p.m. The speaker, Anne Truchard Linville, will share expertise gained from volunteering at LAJWC in Austin for over 25 years.
With her decades of involvement, Linville has led tours, planted, helped collect seeds, and more at the LAJWC. Her goal has always been to add beauty to the gardens and educate the public. As a result, she has learned practical tips to improve her own personal outdoor space. She will share these tips, empowering you to apply them in your own garden as she reviews her learning curve.
Despite living in many places, Linville’s roots in the Mentz/ Bernardo area give her a unique understanding of the challenges faced in our little piece of Texas. After a career in nursing, she continued her fascination with growing things by volunteering at the center. Through experience and training, she’s become a strong advocate of native plants, which she believes are best suited for our local environment.
