Seven area athletes have made this year’s TGCA Volleyball Academic All-State teams.
In order to qualify, the Texas Girls Coaches Association selects academic all-state teams in all conferences where the support staff is nominated by member coaches. The qualifiers must be graduating seniors and have to have a grade point average of 94 or above. The head varsity coach of the respective teams must also be in good standing with the TGCA.
The area athletes that qualified are Ava Aldape (Fayetteville), Jill Eilers (Round Top-Carmine), Tess Eilers (Round Top-Carmine), Sadie Noska (Flatonia), Sarah Ponewash (Flatonia), Katie Templeton (Flatonia), and Allie Uzzell (Flatonia).
