Columbus resident Rylee Nicole Schobel, 29, and son Jude Schobel, 10, died in a two-vehicle accident when, according to DPS, Bobby John Murphy, 42, of Needville, failed to stay in his lane and struck the vehicle driven by Schobel on, Feb. 11 on FM 109 in Colorado County.
Rylee Schobel died at the scene and Jude Schobel died Feb. 15. Daughter Lorelei Schobel, 7, remains in critical condition. Murphy was taken to Columbus Community Hospital and then transferred to St. David’s in Austin.
