BLOOD DRIVE SET MENTZ - St. Roch blood drive will be held Wednesday, March 12 from 2 to 7 p.m. at St. Roch Parish Hall in Mentz. Call 979-8778984 to secure a time slot or walk-ins are available.

SEALY KC LENTEN FISH FRY RETURNS

SEALY - The Sealy Knights of Columbus announce the return of their annual Famous Lenten Fish Fry, starting Friday, March 7 at the Sealy Columbus Club Hall at 1310 Hwy 90 West in Sealy, and will continue every Friday during Lent. Serving drive-thru only, from 5:30 to 7:15 p.m., for only $13 a plate. Cash or most major credit cards accepted. Menu will include fried fish, French fries, pinto beans, coleslaw and hush puppies. Proceeds will benefit Sealy KC programs.

FRELSBURG KC PLANS FISH FRYS

FRELSBURG - The Frelsburg Knights of Columbus Council No. 5157 will sponsor its Friday Night Fish Frys, March 7-28, and April 4 and 11, from 5:30 to 8 p.m. at Sts. Peter & Paul Diamond Center in Frelsburg. The catfish meals, dine in or plates to go, are $15 per plate and fish by the pound $15 per pound. Homemade desserts will be available by St. Anne's Altar Society. Raffle tickets will be available.

SQUARE DANCE CLUB TO HOLD DANCE

LA GRANGE - The La Grange Roadrunners square dance club will host the Texas Independance Day Dance at the Randolph Recreation Center on E. Pearl St. Saturday, March 8. Square dancing is the State Folk Dance of Texas. The schedule includes early rounds from 6:30 to 7:30 p.m. The dance (2+2) will be from 7:30 to 10 p.m. A donation entrance fee is $15 per dancer, $5 per teen. Non-dancers are free. Refreshments will be available. Cuers are Jerry and Lucy Pate, and the caller is Ken Burke.

CHAMPS FISH SET FOR MARCH 7

SEALY - Charitable Heroes Achieving Memorable Performances (C.H.A.M.P.) Friday Fish Fry will be held Friday, March 7 at Sealy Lifebridge Church at 2162 FM 2187 Rd. in Sealy. The meal will be served from 4:30 to 7:15 p.m. The drive-thru only plates are $12 each.

IVFD TO HOLD BARBECUE

INDUSTRY — The Industry Volunteer Fire & Rescue drive-thru barbecue chicken and sausage plates will be served Sunday, March 9 at the Firemen’s Park at Highway 159 in Industry. Advance only meal tickets will be sold for $15 per plate. Pick up plates from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Tickets may be purchased by March 6 from any firefighter, from local businesses or call 979-357-2390 and leave message.

YOUTH TO HOLD PORK STEAK FUNDRAISER GIDDINGS — The Holy Cross Warda Youth Group annual pork steak fundraiser will be held Sunday, March 9. Drive thru only from 10 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. at the Holy Cross picnic grounds at 600 FM 1482 in Giddings. Tickets, presale only by Thursday, Feb. 27, are $15 and may be purchased at Holy Cross Lutheran Church or La Grange Chevron. Baked goods will also be available for a freewill donation.

CANCER BENEFIT FOR JANETTE STANLEY LA GRANGE - A cancer benefit has been planned for Janette Stanley Saturday, March 8 at Popz Star Bar at 982 E. Travis St. in La Grange. To-go pork steak plates will be for sale and will be served from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Benefit begins at 5 p.m. until they shut them down. Music will be provided by DJ Big Kountry from 7 to 11 p.m. There will also be a 50/50 raffle and silent auction. REPUBLICAN WOMEN MEETING SLATED LA GRANGE - The public is invited to attend the Fayette County Republican Women general meeting Wednesday, March 19, from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. at Frisch Auf! Valley Country Club at 575 Country Club Dr. in La Grange. Lunch is available for $20. Guest speaker will be Treniss Evans. Evans is the founder of Condemned USA. He was a defendant of his own prejudicial prosecution from the Department of Justice following the events of Jan. 6, 2021. His organization has been diligently combating the DOJ inside the courts since 2021 and have spoken to roughly 400+ Jan. 6 defendants. Condemned USA has provided necessary financial and investigative aid to countless defendants since the birth of Condemned USA and continues to fight daily for Americans who have had their rights stripped by the Department of Justice.
