The technology industry is rapidly expanding throughout the world, and my vision for Columbus and the Colorado County region is that we are equipped. Sharing this recently with someone, I was asked what does that have to do with the Chamber of Commerce?
The Chamber has also conducted multiple Round Tables to discuss with various interest groups their vision, for Columbus in the next 20-30 years; a 2050 Strategic Plan. I was asked the same thing, what does that have to do with the Chamber?
Short answer—everything. A chamber is a room, a place to meet; commerce is the organized set up of exchange of products, services or something of value, among economic agents. Putting these together in a chamber of commerce it can be said that it is an organization where members are joined together in the interest of conducting the business of doing business.
