Texas Select Knife Show held in Bellville

Texas Select Knife Show held in Bellville

BELLVILLE — The Texas Select Custom Cutlery Event held on April 4 and 5 at the Austin County Fairgrounds in Bellville had more than knives to salivate over. With the hundreds of knives that could end up on a wish list or hanging on someone’s belt, plenty of other things were happening.

There were demonstrations on forging a knife from raw materials by Erick Rivers, and a lesson on the anatomy of an anvil by J. Neilson. The cutlery event even had an hair-raising ballistic dummy sword testing by a lucky visitor and the ever-popular chopping competition performed by experienced swordsmiths testing their metal against others.

The hall was packed and the excitement was high as it is every year when Texas Select puts on its show with Phenix Knives of Bellville.
