GARDEN CLUB TO HOST FLOWER SHOW SCHULENBURG — The Schulenburg Garden Club will host “Days Gone By” A Standard Flower Show from noon to 4 p.m. on Wednesday, April 23 at Schulenburg Hall located at 405 South St. and Hwy. 77. The show is free and open to the public. Enjoy lunch, plant sale, country store, punch and cookies and door prizes.
HABITAT TO HOLD CONNECTION DAY COLUMBUS — The Colorado County Habitat for Humanity will hold a Community Connections Day Health and Wellness Fair Saturday, April 26 from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. on the Colorado County Courthouse square in Columbus. The event will also include a blood drive and free diabetes screening (A1C test) with donation. Activities for the event will include facepainting, scavenger hunt art, eye testing, build a birdhouse, food, drinks and sales. Come out and support local civic organizations, youth groups, nonprofits, churchs and businesses.
ST. MICHAEL TO HOLD SPRING FESTIVAL WEIMAR — St. Michael Catholic Church in Weimar will hold its Spring Festival Sunday, April 27 at the Veteran’s Memorial Park in Weimar. The fried chicken and sausage dinner will be served starting at 11 a.m. at $14 per plate. Drive-thru take-home plates will be available at St. Michael Family Center at $14 per plate. The event will include an auction at 1 p.m., Bingo from 2 to 6 p.m., antique and classic car show, country store, cake walk, treasure chest, kids games including fish pond, train ride and Plinko and more, and bounce house from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. Music will be provided by the Czechaholics at 11 a.m., Chris Rybak at 2 p.m. and Texas Sundown Band from 5 to 8 p.m. There will hamburgers, cold drinks and snow cones.

LA GRANGE — In order for our staff to catch up on the processing of donations, Second Chance Emporium in La Grange will not be accepting donations now through April 21. The donations drop-off area will reopen on Tuesday, April 22.

Seniors Together, a place for senior’s, 55 years or older to so- cialize with others is held every first and third Wednesday from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the St. Paul Lutheran Church Lighthouse Fellowship Hall at 201 Veteran’s Dr. in Columbus. and at the Weimar Civic Center in Weimar on the second and fourth Wednesdays from 9:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. The events includes card games, board games, Bingo with prizes, coffee and tea, movies, lunch provided, educational speakers, field trips including trips to casinos and so cial gathering.
EL SENIOR CITIZENS DANCE TO START BACK UP EAST BERNARD — The Eagle Lake Senior Citizens Dance will be joining forces with the American Legion Hall in East Bernard. The Red Ravens are scheduled for Friday, June 6 from 7:30 to 10:30 p.m. The dance will remain the same format including pot luck and door prizes. Tickets are $10 per person. Czechaholics are scheduled for Friday, Aug. 1. Everyone is invited.
ELLINGER VFD TO HOLD FUNDRAISER ELLINGER — The Ellinger Volunteer Fire Department will hold a fundraiser Sunday, April 27 at the Ellinger Chamber of Commerce Hall in Ellinger. A barbecue chicken and sausage dinner will be served at $15 per plate beginning at 11 a.m. Drive-thru plates start at 10:30 a.m. Barbecue chicken to go at the pits are $12 per chicken. Auction begins at 1 p.m. Proceeds will be used for new equipment.
