LA GRANGE — Fayette County beef cattle ranks in the top three cow/calf production in the state of Texas. Annually, beef cattle producers face a wide variety of challenges from environmental to economic factors.
Therefore, the Fayette Beef Committee along with the Fayette County A&M AgriLife Extension Service work together to present timely and valuable best management practices to improve efficiency in beef cattle production.
On Friday, May 2, the annual Fayette County Cow/Calf Clinic and Trade Show is scheduled at the Fayette County Fairgrounds at 400 W. Fair Grounds Rd. in La Grange.. Various ag-related and local businesses will be onsite for the trade show and have donated numerous donations for door prizes to those in attendance.
Registration will begin at 7:30 a.m. with the program kicking off at 8 a.m., and should conclude around 4 p.m.
Topics will include What's Under the Hide, Livestock Risk Protection, Livestock Market Re- ports, Drones for Weed & Brush Management, Herbicide Updates & Laws and Regulations for Pesticide Applicators.
Three hours of CEUs (two General, one Law & Reg) will be provided for those with an applicator’s license.
Registration cost is $30 per person. Included is donuts and coffee, a catered lunch, numerous handouts, presentations and nearly $2,000 in door prizes from trade show participants.
