HABITAT TO HOLD CONNECTION DAY

COLUMBUS — The Colorado County Habitat for Humanity will hold a Community Connections Day Health and Wellness Fair Saturday, April 26 from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. on the Colorado County Courthouse square in Columbus. The event will also include a blood drive and free diabetes screening (A1C test) with donation. Activities for the event will include facepainting, scavenger hunt art, eye testing, build a birdhouse, food, drinks and sales. Come out and support local civic organizations, youth groups, nonprofits, churchs and businesses.

SEALY DANCE CLUB TO HOLD DANCE

SEALY — The Lions Sealy Dance Club will hold a dance Saturday, May 3 at the Sealy American Legion Hall located at 1630 Meyer St. in Sealy. The band, Heartland Texas, will be providing live music from 7:30 to 11 p.m. The public is always welcome.

FAYETTE COUNTY TIRE DISPOSAL DAY SET

Fayette County will host a one day only tire disposal day. Drop off locations: April 29, 7 a.m. to 3 p.m., Fayette County Schulenburg Pct. 4 Yard, 1801 West US Hwy. 90, Schulenburg; April 30, 7 a.m. to 3 p.m., Fayette County Recycling Center, 210 Svoboda Lane, La Grange. Disposal fees: $5 for each car and passenger truck tires; $15 for each truck tire (18 wheeler type); and $30 for each tractor tire, maximum size of 17.5x.25.

BLEIBLERVILLE VFD FISH FRY PLANNED BLEIBLERVILLE — The Bleiblerville Volunteer Fire De- partment will hold its 24th annual fish fry Sunday, May 18 at the Bleiblerville Fire Station at 3342 FM 2502 in Bleiblerville. Fish to go, by the pound only, will be sold at $15 per pound from 9 to 10 a.m., plates to go are $15 and desserts will be available. Fish plates (dine in) from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. is $15 for adults, $5 for children (6-12) and free to children under 6. A live auction will begin at 1 p.m. The event will also include kids activities, silent auction, and cake variety walk. There will be food to go in the afternoon. Raffle prizes will be awarded after the fish fry. Proceeds will go toward the purchase of fire fighting equipment.

ST. MICHAEL TO HOLD SPRING FESTIVAL WEIMAR — St. Michael Catholic Church in Weimar will hold its Spring Festival Sunday, April 27 at the Veteran’s Memorial Park in Weimar. The fried chicken and sausage dinner will be served starting at 11 a.m. at $14 per plate. Drive-thru take-home plates will be available at St. Michael Family Center at $14 per plate. The event will include an auction at 1 p.m., Bingo from 2 to 6 p.m., antique and classic car show, country store, cake walk, treasure chest, kids games including fish pond, train ride and Plinko and more, and bounce house from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. Music will be provided by the Czechaholics at 11 a.m., Chris Rybak at 2 p.m. and Texas Sundown Band from 5 to 8 p.m. There will hamburgers, cold drinks and snow cones.

SENIORS TOGETHER SOCIAL SCHEDULE Seniors Together, a place for senior’s, 55 years or older to so- cialize with others is held every first and third Wednesday from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the St. Paul Lutheran Church Lighthouse Fellowship Hall at 201 Veteran’s Dr. in Columbus. and at the Weimar Civic Center in Weimar on the second and fourth Wednesdays from 9:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. The events includes card games, board games, Bingo with prizes, coffee and tea, movies, lunch provided, educational speakers, field trips including trips to casinos and so cial gathering.

EL SENIOR CITIZENS DANCE TO START BACK UP EAST BERNARD — The Eagle Lake Senior Citizens Dance will be joining forces with the American Legion Hall in East Bernard. The Red Ravens are scheduled for Friday, June 6 from 7:30 to 10:30 p.m. The dance will remain the same format including pot luck and door prizes. Tickets are $10 per person. Czechaholics are scheduled for Friday, Aug. 1. Everyone is invited.

ELLINGER VFD TO HOLD FUNDRAISER ELLINGER — The Ellinger Volunteer Fire Department will hold a fundraiser Sunday, April 27 at the Ellinger Chamber of Commerce Hall in Ellinger. A barbecue chicken and sausage dinner will be served at $15 per plate beginning at 11 a.m. Drive-thru plates start at 10:30 a.m. Barbecue chicken to go at the pits are $12 per chicken. Auction begins at 1 p.m. Proceeds will be used for new equipment.
