Fayette County Sheriff Keith Korenek reports that early on April 25, around 1:48 a.m., the Fayette County Sheriff's Office received a 911 call reporting a victim with a gunshot wound to the face at a trailer park on W. State Highwat 71, near La Grange.
Fayette County Sheriff Deputies Jason Fowler and Jose Mosqueda, along with EMS Medic 1 and EMS Medic 2, responded to the scene.
Upon arrival, deputies located a 19-year-old male suffering from a single gunshot wound to the jaw area. EMS Medic Unit 1 arrived on scene and transported the male subject to South Austin Hospital.
Two subjects in the trailer advised they were asleep and another female said she was washing dishes when they all heard the gunshot.
After the investigation, it was determined that the gun- shot wound was self-inflicted. Xander Lee Richard of West Point was the victim.
The condition of the victim is unknown as of press time.
