The Austin County Retired Teachers Association, a local unit of the Texas Retired Teachers Association is awarding two scholarships to local Bellville High School graduates this year. The scholarships were initiated in 2015 when the association began supporting local students interested in pursuing the teaching profession. The two scholarships are given in memory of Judge Leroy H. Grebe Sr., who was a pillar in the education of many students in Austin County. He served for years as the Austin County Superintendent, and he also served as the Austin County Judge at one time.
The 2025 scholarship recipients are Tylin Jackson, who plans to study Early Childhood Education, and Abigail Keen, who plans to become a Special Education Teacher.
ACRTA congratulates these two scholarship winners and extends total support to them as they pursue their teaching careers.
