BLEIBLERVILLE VFD FISH FRY PLANNED
BLEIBLERVILLE — The Bleiblerville Volunteer Fire De- partment will hold its 24th annual fish fry Sunday, May 18 at the Bleiblerville Fire Station at 3342 FM 2502 in Bleiblerville. Fish to go, by the pound only, will be sold at $15 per pound from 9 to 10 a.m., plates to go are $15 and desserts will be available. Fish plates (dine in) from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. is $15 for adults, $5 for children (6-12) and free to children under 6. A live auction will begin at 1 p.m. The event will also include kids activities, silent auction, and cake variety walk. There will be food to go in the afternoon. Raffle prizes will be awarded after the fish fry. Proceeds will go toward the purchase of fire fighting equipment.
KC TO SELL CHICKEN & SAUSAGE
FRELSBURG — The Frelsburg Knights of Columbus Council will be selling chicken and sausage barbecue to go Sunday, May 18 from 10 a.m. to noon at Sts. Peter & Paul Diamond Center in Frelsburg. FATHER'S DAY/BBQ CELEBRATION PLANNED MILLHEIM — Millheim Harmonie Hall will hold a Father’s Day and barbecue celebration Sunday, June 15 at the hall located on Farm-to-Market Road 949 between Sealy and Bellville. The meal is a real Texas style open pit barbecue served from 11 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. The cost to make your plate and dine in is $18 for adults and $10 for children 12 and under. SACRED HEART TO HOLD PICNIC
HALLETTSVILLE — Sacred Heart Parish will hold its Spring 2025 Picnic Sunday, May 25 at the KC Hall in Hallettsville. The $13 country fried chicken and stew meal will be served in the hall from 10:15 a.m. to 1 p.m. and drive-thru plates-to-go from 10:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. The event will include a live auction at 1 p.m., cake walk, country store, religious articles booth and Bingo from noon to 6 p.m. Music will be provided thoughout the day and evening. Hamburgers, nachos, popcorn, snowcones, lemonade and sodawater will be available all afternoon.

EL SENIOR CITIZENS DANCE TO START BACK UP EAST BERNARD — The Eagle Lake Senior Citizens Dance will be joining forces with the American Legion Hall in East Bernard. The Red Ravens are scheduled for Friday, June 6 from 7:30 to 10:30 p.m. The dance will remain the same format including pot luck and door prizes. Tickets are $10 per person. Czechaholics are scheduled for Friday, Aug. 1. Everyone is invited.
SHELBY VFD TO HOLD FUNDRAISER SHELBY — The Shelby Volunteer Fire Department will hold its 67th annual fundraiser Sunday, May 25 at Harmonie Hall in Shelby. The $15 meal includes barbecue pork and sausage, german potatoes, green beans and barbecue sauce. The dine in-cafeteria style meal and to go plates will be served starting at 11 a.m.
Barbecue by the pound will be available at $15 per pound. A live auction will begin at 1 p.m. Raffle tickets will be available. A free dance, with music provided by the Blue Denim Band will begin following the auction.
