Fayette County Sheriff Keith Korenek reported that on the af - ternoon of May 13, around 5 p.m., the Fayette County Sheriff's Of - fice received a 911 call reporting a loader on fire on property off FM 954 north of Wunderlich Rd. in the Willow Springs area. The Fayetteville Volunteer Fire Department was notified and responded, along with Dep - uty Wesley Arrison. Upon arrival, a Case loader was fully engulfed in fire. The fire was quickly contained and extinguished with no reported injuries. The operator believed the cause of the fire was an electrical short. The quick response by the Fayetteville Volunteer Fire De - partment kept the fire from spreading during this dry period when a spark can create a fire that can quickly get out of control.
