Vets take opener

NEW ULM - The Weimar Vets traveled to New Ulm to take on the Firemen for their first game of the community lease 2025 season.

The Vets came out on top 3-1 in a tightly contested game for the whole nine innings.

Trevor Brown started on the mound for three and one third strong innings allowing no runs and only one hit while striking out four. In relief, Huxton Kloesel threw five and two thirds strong innings, shutting down the New Ulm hitters allowing only four hits, one walk, and striking out six for the win.

A great defensive performance with no errors kept New Ulm from scoring more with 10 run- ners left on base.

Defensive standouts included

Carson Peschel, Emerson Harvey, Jeff Osburn, Cody Barrett, Ryan Rerich, and Kyle Peschel behind the plate for all nine in- nings.
