CGC May awards

Columbus Garden Club awarded May Yard of the Month to home of Sandra Frnka at 119 Creek Bend Ln. in Columbus. Frnka enjoys working in her expansive garden often. Her smart choices that make it easier to keep it beautiful and blooming include water-smart guara and red yucca along the challenging long driveway border as well as Japanese holly ferns and a variety of grasses that do well in shadier areas along the north side of the home. A variety of roses in whites, redsand coral offer colorful blooms across the front of the home.
The May Community Beautification Award was awarded to Your Hometown Pharmacy, owned by Paula Grahmann, at 1206 Fannin St. in Columbus. The rose bed brimming with red blooms brightens the corner at 1206 Fannin St.
