Dulany gets 45 years

COLUMBUS — Ethan Lee Dulany, 25, of Eagle Lake learned of his fate on May 21 on the 2021 murders in a vicious cycle of violence that stemmed from the shooting death of Keaton Hancock in September 2021. Dulany is the last person in connection with the shootings to be sentenced. Six others were tried and convicted last year.

Dulany was charged and given a 15 year sentence for an aggravated robbery charge and a 30-year sentence after pleading guilty to murder.

He was spared the life sentences handed to two others, Jose Feliciano Casanova and Dante Lorenz Stevens, that were involved in the Hancock and Jonathan Segura murders, because of his limited involvement in the killings.

A drive-by shooting in Columbus on Sept. 10, 2021, claimed the life of Hancock and an hour later another drive-by shooting in Eagle Lake claimed the life of Segura.

The 25th District Judge William Old III presided at the Colorado County Courthouse in Columbus.
