ST. JOHN TO HOLD ANNUAL JULY 4 PICNIC
SCHULENBURG — St. John Parish, located at 7026 FM 957 in Schulenburg, will celebrate the 137th year of its Annual 4th of July Picnic on Friday, July 4. St. John the Baptist will hold Mass at 9 a.m. and a flag raising cer emony will begin at 10 a.m. The stew and fried chicken meal will begin serving, dine-in or take home, at 10:30 a.m. for $14 per plate. Musical entertainment begins at 10:30 a.m. A live auction will begin at 12:30 p.m. The event will include a raffle drawing at 7 p.m. and fireworks show at 9:30 p.m. The event will include beer, soda water, snow cones, hamburgers and more, country store, cake walk, ball throw, ring toss, lil diggers sandpile and more entertainment. SENIORS TOGETHER SOCIAL SCHEDULE
Seniors Together, a place for senior’s, 55 years or older to socialize with others is held every first and third Wednesday from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the St. Paul Lutheran Church Lighthouse Fellowship Hall at 201 Veteran’s Dr. in Columbus. and at the Weimar Civic Center in Weimar on the second and fourth Wednesdays from 9:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. The events in cludes card games, board games, Bingo with prizes, coffee and tea, movies, lunch provided, educational speakers, field trips including trips to casinos and social gathering.
EAGLE LAKE FIREWORKS SHOW SLATED EAGLE LAKE —The 27th Annual Eagle Lake Fireworks Show will be held Thursday, July 3 beginning at 9:15 p.m. at the usual location on Calhoun Road in Eagle Lake. 175TH 4TH OF JULY PARADE AND CELEBRATION ROUND TOP - The Round Top Rifle Association to sponsor the 175th 4th of July parade and celebration Friday, July 4 in Round Top.
Activities begin at 10 a.m. on the town square. Cannon starts the parade at 10:30 a.m. The barbecue brisket, pork and sausage meal is $18 and will be served at the Rifle Association Hall at 11:30 a.m.
Drive-thru will be available. All day music will be provided by the Round Top Brass Band, Round Top Jam Session and Cool Freddie E & The Crew. There will be a drawing for a $5,000 gift card and much more. Tickets can be purchased at Round Top State Bank, Round Top Mercantile or any RTRA member. There will be plenty of cold refreshments.
TASTE OF COLUMBUS PLANNED
COLUMBUS — The Taste of Columbus will be held Thursday, July 10 from 6 to 9 p.m. at the Southern Oaks Event Center at 1368 Highway 71 Business in Columbus. Purchase raffle tickets and wristbands at your local club. Wristbands are $10 for children and $20 for adults. Raffle tickets are $5 for one or $20 for a book of five. Proceeds to benefit the Boys & Girls Club of Champion Valley.
TRUCARE TO HOLD 5 STAR CELEBRATION COLUMBUS — Trucare Living Centers at 1511 Montezuma St. in Columbus will hold a 5 Star Celebration Thursday, June 26 from 3 to 6 p.m. The event will include a ribbon cutting at 4 p.m., open house, school supply drive, door prizes and refreshments.
