An Austin County Grand Jury re- cently handed down an indictment on Laura Elie. Elie, also known as Laura
Bursell, was arrested stemming from an investigaiton of the murder of her hus band. Elie, of Cat Spring, was arrested in
Cat Spring on March 19.
The husband, Jackie Elie, was report -
ed missing by friends on Oct. 23, 2024. The suspect remains in jail awaiting tri - al for the murder of her husband in the Austin County jail.
