WEIMAR — If you hunt in Texas, you may be required to ob- tain an official hunter education certificate. Any person born after Sept. 1, 1971, requires this certifi cation card to hunt in Texas.
Friends of the Weimar Public Library will offer a Hunter Safety Certification Class on Thursday, July 17. To enroll, you must register by accessing the Texas Parks and Wildlife Department website: https://tpwd.elementlms.com/ course/hunter-education-classroom course-11541/. Hunters aged nine and up can obtain their hunt- er safety certification card after completion of the official online or classroom course through a certi- fied instructor.
The course will be limited to 40 participants and will require a fee of $15 per person, payable at the door by cash or check made out to Lee Mueller.
The class will begin at 9 a.m. with sign-in at 8:45 a.m. at the Weimar High School Cafetorium, 506 W. Main in Weimar. Friends of the Weimar Public Library will furnish lunch for the attendees.
When registering, participants will be required to set up an account with a PIN. It is very important to save the password designated, as it will be needed in order to print your certificate after the class.
