ST. JOHN TO HOLD ANNUAL JULY 4 PICNIC SCHULENBURG — St. John Parish, located at 7026 FM 957 in Schulenburg, will celebrate the 137th year of its Annual 4th of July Picnic on Friday, July 4. St. John the Baptist will hold Mass at 9 a.m. and a flag raising ceremony will begin at 10 a.m. The stew and fried chicken meal will begin serving, dine-in or take home, at 10:30 a.m. for $14 per plate. Musical entertainment begins at 10:30 a.m. A live auction will begin at 12:30 p.m. The event will include a raffle drawing at 7 p.m. and fireworks show at 9:30 p.m. The event will include beer, soda water, snow cones, hamburgers and more, country store, cake walk, ball throw, ring toss, lil diggers sandpile and more entertainment. 175TH 4TH OF JULY PARADE AND CELEBRATION ROUND TOP - The Round Top Rifle Association to sponsor the 175th 4th of July parade and celebration Friday, July 4 in Round Top.
Activities begin at 10 a.m. on the town square. Cannon starts the parade at 10:30 a.m. The barbecue brisket, pork and sausage meal is $18 and will be served at the Rifle Association Hall at 11:30 a.m. Drive-thru will be available. All day music will be provided by the Round Top Brass Band, Round Top Jam Session and Cool Freddie E & The Crew. There will be a drawing for a $5,000 gift card and much more. Tickets can be purchased at Round Top State Bank, Round Top Mercantile or any RTRA member. There will be plenty of cold refreshments.
TASTE OF COLUMBUS PLANNED
COLUMBUS - The Taste of Columbus will be held Thursday, July 10 from 6 to 9 p.m. at the Southern Oaks Event Center at 1368 Highway 71 Business in Columbus. Purchase raffle tickets and wristbands at your local club. Wristbands are $10 for children and $20 for adults. Raffle tickets are $5 for one or $20 for a book of five. Proceeds to benefit the Boys & Girls Club of Champion Valley.
BLUE DENIM TO PLAY AT LIONS SEALY DANCE SEALY - The Lions Sealy Dance Club is having a dance Satur day, July 5 at the Sealy American Legion Hall located at 1630 Meyer St. in Sealy. The band, Blue Denim, will be providing live music from 7:30 to 11 p.m. The public is always welcome.
MORAVIA PARISH PICNIC PLANNED MORAVIA - Moravia Ascension Parish Picnic will be held Sunday, July 20 at the church located at FM 957 and FM 532 in Moravia. The stew and kettle fried chicken meal will be served at 11 a.m. at $14 per plate. Drive-thru plates to go will be served from 10:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. The event will include a country store, cake walk at noon, games, games, auction sale at 1 p.m., and bingo from 1 to 5 p.m. There will be hamburgers, refreshments and entertainment on the picnic grounds.
