CAT SPRING - Colorado County Sheriff's Deputies responded to a possi -
ble cockfighting event on June 14, being held at the 3800 block of Farm to Market 949 North, in the Cat Spring area. After getting consent to search the property from the property owner, a large gathering of people was found near a covered arena, as well as fighting roosters. Clinton James Kolz, 52, of Cat Spring, was arrested for cockfighting, under Texas Penal Code Section 42.105.
This incident remains under investigation and further charges against the participants attending the event are pending. An anonymous tip to the new Colorado County Crimes Stoppers P3 reporting app was used.
