Vets game rained out

WEIMAR — The Weimar Vets faced the Flatonia Wildcats July 13 in a suspended two inning game.

The Vets led 1-0 after two innings then the sky opened up; suspending the game until Tuesday, July 15 (weather permitting).

Further details on the completion of the game will be available in next weeks article.

Vets coach Larry “Bear” Kana said, “Thanks to Tom and Claire for getting the field in playing shape; also Mike Koeth and Jeff Osburn. There was no way of playing after the 25+ inches of rain. Thanks to Rex Kloesel for announcing and keeping the scoreboard.”

Sponsors of the week included Winkler’s A/C & Electric, Doc and Ann Rugely, State Farm Insurance- Ken Kram, M-G Inc., and Kaspar Meat Market.

Next week’s games will be Weimar vs. Shiner and Serbin vs. New Ulm. No change in the standings due to the rainouts.

“Also, thanks for the fan support and having to wait out the rain just to leave, Kana said.

The game verses Shiner will be played at Strickland Field, Sunday, July 20 at 3 p.m., not at Shiner. See y’all then.”
