LA GRANGE — The Fayette County Country Music Club will host their monthly opry on Monday, July 21, at the Knights of Columbus Hall in La Grange. This show will be a tribute to the late and great Patsy Cline with Lisa Layne.
The show starts at 7 p.m. and the doors will open at 5:30 p.m. Admission is $8.
Layne was born in Tyler and began singing professionally at the age of four and worked shows with her dad, who is a professional musician, on and off through her school years.
In 1993, Layne won the role of Patsy Cline in the first national tour of “A Closer Walk with Patsy Cline.” Layne performed at Nashville’s Texas Troubadour Theater, doing the Patsy show from 1998 until 2000. She is one of only three women certified by the Patsy Cline Association to do official tribute performances to Patsy Cline.
Layne and her husband produced the Lisa Layne Country Show, where they performed at the God and Country Theater. Layne has appeared with Willie Nelson, Dolly Parton, Hall and Oates, and Julio Iglesias, among others.
In 2016-2017, Layne was awarded the Will Rogers Pure Country Female Vocalist of the year by the Academy of Western Artists.
Layne is well known for one of the all-time most popular Christmas songs: “All I Want for Christmas Is You”.
