SEALY — The City of Sealy has selected Administrative Sergeant Russell Grimes to become the new Sealy Chief of Police following the upcoming retirement of Chief Jay Reeves. Grimes will officially assume his role on Oct. 1.
Grimes has over 30 years of experience. He has served in the Sealy Police Department as a detective, detective sergeant, and administrative sergeant since 2018. He holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Criminal Justice and Law Enforcement Administration. Grimes plans to improve upon its existing community policing policies and look for where improvements could be made to retain officers.
