Lady Horns volleyball team receives 2024-2025 AVCA Team Academic Award for 12th consecutive year

SCHULENBURG — The Schulenburg Lady Horn Volleyball Team announced that they are a recipient of the 2024-2025 American Volleyball Coaches Association (AVCA) Team Academic Award. It is the 12th consecutive year that the Lady Horns have received the award.

Team members include Miranda Bonner, Reagan Dusek, Jenna Guentert, Avery Helms, Jashiya Jackson, Michaela Kollmann, Madison Kunschick, Clara Magliolo, Emmrie Marx, Grace Schramek, Morgan Steinhauser, Haylee Vacek and Landry Zapalac.

There were 527 high school teams from across the United States of America received recognition with 51 teams being from Texas.

The Lady Horns also received the AVCA Team Academic Award Honor Roll for the sixth consecutive year. This designation is for high school teams that were in the Top 20% in the United States based on their Team Cumulative GPA.

The Lady Horns overall cumulative team GPA for 2024-2025 was 99.061.

There were 158 teams in the United States of America received recognition with 26 teams being from Texas.

The Lady Horn team is coached by Donald and Melissa Zapalac, and Loren Besetzny.
