Former Columbus football wide receiver and state champion Camdon Pitchford will be heading to West Virginia to play for legendary head coach Rich Rodriguez, who made his name known as a head coach at West Virginia in 2001 before heading to University of Michigan in 2008, then Arizona in 2012, then Jacksonville State in 2022, and recently came back to West Virginia to become the head coach once again in 2025.
After coming off a state championship as a wide receiver and also going to a state title game as a starting point guard in basketball, Pitchford is listed as a wide receiver on the West Virginia football roster.
He finished his senior year with 87 receptions for 1,205 yards and 21 touchdowns.
With Pitchford’s ability, he could be a starter right away for a Rich Rod offense that runs the spread and likes to move fast.
