Schobel follow’s in dad’s footsteps; begins tenure at TCU football

After leading his team to a state championship title last year, incoming Texas Christian University football freshman and former Columbus Cardinal Adam Schobel will put the same uniform his dad, Matt Schobel, put on as a Horned Frog in 1999 and was later drafted by the Cincinnati Bengals 67th overall in the 2002 NFL Draft.

Whether his son wants to play in the NFL is unknown, but he’s definitely shown the potential throughout his high school career as he eventually earned the number one quarterback ranking in the entire state of Texas.

Schobel entered his senior year in high school with 7.668 yards passing, 94 touchdowns, and just eight interceptions. He led Columbus to a third-round playoff appearance as a junior before winning state the year after.

Schobel had a total of eight of-

fers and first committed to Bay lor, then Oklahoma State before finally settling with TCU in Fort Worth.

Schobel has an elite football background and will surely use that to his advantage, just like he did in high school.
