ST. MICHAEL PLANS HARVEST FEAST WEIMAR — St. Michael Catholic Church Harvest Feast will be held Sunday, Aug. 10 at Veteran’s Memorial Hall in Weimar. The fried chicken and stew dinner will be $15 per plate. Serving starts at 11 a.m. Pick-up, and picnic drive-thru and go will be available at St.
Michael’s Family Center in Weimar. The event will include Mass at 10:30 a.m., auction at 1 p.m., Bingo from 2 to 5 p.m., country store, treasure chest, ring toss, antique and classic car show, famous picnic burgers, snow cones, snack bar, fish pond, train ride, Plinko, ball throw and more. There will be a cornhole tournament at 4:30 p.m.
Free dancing and music from 11:30 a.m. to 9 p.m. with entertainment by Shiner Hobo Band, The Lost Cause Band and Southbound 955. There will be a drawing for sweepstakes prizes.
STS. PETER & PAUL COUNTRY FESTIVAL FRELSBURG — Sts. Peter & Paul Catholic Church-Frelsburg will hold its country festival Sunday, Aug. 3 on the church grounds located at 1031 Church Ln., New Ulm, TX 78950. Holy Mass will be held 8:30 and 10:30 a.m. They will be serving a fried fish meal for $15 per plate with dine-in from 11 a.m. until 1 p.m. Kids 12 and under is $10 per plate. Drive-thru line is from 10:30 a.m. to 1 p.m.
The event will include Bingo starting at noon, a live auction at 1 p.m., free dance featuring The Dujka Brothers after the auction.
There will also be kids games, toy raffle, ring toss, cake walk, gift card walk, kids water zone, country store, raffle drawing, silent auc tion and live music by local musicians outdoors throughout the day.
Hamburgers, nachos and snacks will be available in the afternoon.
ANDERSON MEMORIAL FUNDRAISER SET LA GRANGE — As a result of Sgt. Travis Anderson with the La Grange Police Department passing away, a memorial fundraiser in his memory has been started. The fundraiser will be held Saturday, Aug. 16 at the La Grange KC Hall. Start that day with a special Celebration of Life for Sgt. Anderson at 3 p.m. After the Celebration of Life service, at 5 p.m., the fundraiser will open with the start of a silent auction. At 6 p.m., a catered meal of grilled pork steak, buttered potatoes and green beans will be served by the KC Hall. At 7 p.m. a live auction will begin with Lee Fritsch serving as the auctioneer. ST. MARY TO HOLD 75TH ANNUAL BAZAAR ELLINGER — St. Mary Catholic Church in Ellinger will hold its 75th annual bazaar Sunday, Aug. 24 at the Ellinger Chamber of Commerce Community Center in Ellinger. There will be a drive-thru and dine-in fried chicken and sausage dinner with serving beginning at 10:30 a.m. at $15 per plate. Desserts will be available.
A prize drawing will be held with the grand prize of $5,000 Visa gift card and 48 additional prizes. Activities in the hall include a silent auction beginning at 9 a.m. and live auction at 1:30 p.m., Live music by Los Banditos featuring Tim Kulhanek from 10:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. Ten percent of the proceeds benefit Brenham Pregnancy

BVFD PLANS 53RD ANNUAL CELEBRATION BELLVILLE — The Bellville Volunteer Fire Department its 53rd Annual Celebration to be held Friday, Aug. 15 at 5 p.m. at the Austin County Fairgrounds in Bellville. A barbecue chicken and sausage meal will be served inside from 5 to 7 p.m. and drive-thru from 5 to 6:30 p.m. (drive-thru traffic enter via 529 gate, all other enter via 159 east gate). Meal tickets are $15. Homemade hamburgers and hot dogs will available as well as beer, soda water, cake, pie and tea.

This event is held in conjunction with the Schulenburg Festival and starts at Wolters Park in Schulenburg.
