ST. MICHAEL PLANS HARVEST FEAST WEIMAR — St. Michael Catholic Church Harvest Feast will be held Sunday, Aug. 10 at Veteran’s Memorial Hall in Weimar. The fried chicken and stew dinner will be $15 per plate. Serving starts at 11 a.m. Pick-up, and picnic drive-thru and go will be available at St.

Michael’s Family Center in Weimar. The event will include Mass at 10:30 a.m., auction at 1 p.m., Bingo from 2 to 5 p.m., country store, treasure chest, ring toss, antique and classic car show, famous picnic burgers, snow cones, snack bar, fish pond, train ride, Plinko, ball throw and more. There will be a cornhole tournament at 4:30 p.m.

Free dancing and music from 11:30 a.m. to 9 p.m. with entertainment by Shiner Hobo Band, The Lost Cause Band and Southbound 955. There will be a drawing for sweepstakes prizes.

ANDERSON MEMORIAL FUNDRAISER SET LA GRANGE — As a result of Sgt. Travis Anderson with the La Grange Police Department passing away, a memorial fundraiser in his memory has been started. The fundraiser will be held Saturday, Aug. 16 at the La Grange KC Hall. Start that day with a special Celebration of Life for Sgt. Anderson at 3 p.m. After the Celebration of Life service, at 5 p.m., the fundraiser will open with the start of a silent auction. At 6 p.m., a catered meal of grilled pork steak, buttered potatoes and green beans will be served by the KC Hall. At 7 p.m. a live auction will begin with Lee Fritsch serving as the auctioneer. ST. MARY TO HOLD 75TH ANNUAL BAZAAR ELLINGER — St. Mary Catholic Church in Ellinger will hold its 75th annual bazaar Sunday, Aug. 24 at the Ellinger Chamber of Commerce Community Center in Ellinger. There will be a drive-thru and dine-in fried chicken and sausage dinner with serving beginning at 10:30 a.m. at $15 per plate. Desserts will be available.

A prize drawing will be held with the grand prize of $5,000 Visa gift card and 48 additional prizes. Activities in the hall include a silent auction beginning at 9 a.m. and live auction at 1:30 p.m., Live music by Los Banditos featuring Tim Kulhanek from 10:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. Ten percent of the proceeds benefit Brenham Pregnancy Center and Hope.

BVFD PLANS 53RD ANNUAL CELEBRATION BELLVILLE — The Bellville Volunteer Fire Department its 53rd Annual Celebration to be held Friday, Aug. 15 at 5 p.m. at the Austin County Fairgrounds in Bellville. A barbecue chicken and sausage meal will be served inside from 5 to 7 p.m. and drive-thru from 5 to 6:30 p.m. (drive-thru traffic enter via 529 gate, all other enter via 159 east gate). Meal tickets are $15. Homemade hamburgers and hot dogs will available as well as beer, soda water, cake, pie and tea. A raffle drawing will be held at 9 p.m. Advance meal tick - ets and raffle tickets are available at First National Bank-Bellville, Austin County State Bank-Bellville drive-thru or from a member of the fire department. SACRED HEART PLANS FALL PICNIC HALLETTSVILLE — Sacred Heart Parish will hold its Fall 2025 Picnic Sunday, Aug. 31 at the KC Hall in Hallettsville. Country fried chicken, stew and homemade cornbread dressing meal will be served from 10:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. in the KC Hall. Drive-thru platesto- go will be available from 10:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. Meal tickets are $14. A short memorial will be held at 1 p.m. An auction sale will begin at 1 p.m. The event will also include a cake walk, country store, religious articles booth and Bingo from noon to 6 p.m. There will be hamburgers, nachos, popcorn, snowcones, lemonade and soda water all afternoon. Music will be provided by Kovanda Czech Band from 10:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. A free dance with music by Red Ravens and Dujka Brothers will be held from 1 to 8 p.m. in the Polka Pavilion/ Biergarten. The event is full for all ages and everyone is welcome.

FCCT FALL AUDITIONS BEGIN

LA GRANGE — Calling all adult actors, crew members, techies, and other volunteers. ST. MARY'S FESTIVAL/HOMECOMING SET NADA — St. Mary’s Church (Nativity of the Blessed Virgin Mary) in Nada will hold its festival and homecoming Sunday, Aug.

ST. JOHN TO HOLD PICNIC

FAYETTEVILLE — The Fayetteville St. John The Baptist Catholic Church will hold their annual picnic on Sunday, Aug. 31 at St. John’s Recreation Hall in Fayetteville. A Mass with Polka music will be held at 10 a.m. with local musicians taking part in the Mass. There will be a barbeque beef, pork and sausage dinner served at 10:30 a.m. Plates to go at the hall and a drive thru line will also be available at 10:30 a.m. Area musicians will provide live music starting at 11 a.m. under the pavilion. Barbeque and sausage burgers will be sold beginning at 1:30 p.m. A country auction including quilts, antiques, coins, etc. will be held at 1:30 p.m. There will be bingo at 2 p.m. in an air-conditioned hall and kolaches and other pastries will be available throughout the day. Some attractions include children’s games, silent auction, country store, cake wheel, and ice-cold refreshments.
