Second Chance Emporium donates to deserving organizations

LA GRANGE — Second Chance Emporium recently made several significant dona tions to local organizations that benefit the community.

Aside from the $20,000 donation to the Fayette County Fair Association in support of the new food court at the fairgrounds, Second Chance Emporium donated $6,000 to the La Grange High School Band Booster Club. Monies donated will be

used to purchase hydration and cooling equipment for the band program. This equipment will provide compliance with safety regulations for students practicing in the heat, attending football games and attending all-day competitions. The LGHS Band Booster Club organization assists the director of bands in the development of excellence in music education, performance skills, and leadership in students by providing financial, logistical and moral support in a balanced fashion.

A $4,000 donation recently went to the Fayette County Calf Scramble (FCCS), which was held on Aug. 1 and Aug. 2. Out of the 24 scramblers, 12 were awarded calf certificates. Hard ship 'Second Chance' calf cer- tificates, which were funded by Second Chance Emporium, were awarded to two scramblers who came up short in the event.

SCE donated $3,000 to be a sponsor of the sixth Annual Back 2 School Festival in care of Te - jas Health Care. Monies donat ed will provide backpacks, pre- filled with school supplies, for students in need to be successful

in the classroom. The organization's mission is to teach responsibility, leadership and animal husbandry while fostering a deeper connection between youth and the agricultural heritage of Fayette County.

Second Chance Emporium (SCE) recently donated $1,500 to the American Legion Post #102. Monies donated will sup port costs associated with the second Annual Armed Forces Appreciation Dinner and Dance to be held on Saturday, Sept. 13. The American Legion Post #102 serves as the lead organization that represents all veteran organizations within Fayette County and the veteran organizations of Smithville.

Second Chance Emporium (SCE) recently donated $20,000 to the Fayette County Fair Association (FCFA) in support of the new food court at the fairgrounds in La Grange. Monies donated will provide for big fans, swamp coolers, air conditioners, exhaust fans and vents, tables and benches, shelving and prep tables. The mission of the FCFA is to serve as a platform for showcasing local talent, products, entertainment and to foster a sense of community pride.
