DENTON — Austin County had seven pecan entries move on from the East Regional Pecan Show to the State Pecan Show for the 2024 crop year. Results of the 2024 Tex - as State Pecan Show were an - nounced July 20, at the 104th Texas Pecan Growers Annual Conference in Denton. There were 193 entries from the three regional shows (East, West, Central) representing 47 pecan varieties, including natives and variety seedlings.

Grand Champion Native had a pecan with 71 nuts per pound and 57 percent kernal.
