LA GRANGE — The annual Fayette County 4-H Banquet was held on Aug. 10, at the Historic Casino Hall in La Grange.
The 4-H Banquet is the ultimate highlight and culmination of the year’s activities for each member, as we see one year close and a new year begin.
The 4-H awards were as follows: Fayette County 4-H Scholarship: Addison Faske, Lawson Fritsch, Cara Homer, Harper Mau, Mikayla Otto, Elizabeth Shank and Madeline Willrich.
4-H Opportunity Scholarships : $20,000 – Harper Mau $10,000 – Reagan Moreau $5,000 – Addison Faske $1,000 – Mikayla Otto Bluebonnet Master Gardener Association Scholarship: Mikayla Otto.
Emily Fritsch 4-H Scholarships: Cara Homer, Mikayla Otto and Elizabeth Shank.

The Fayette County 4-H Livestock Judging Team was presented with banners as they wrapped up a historical year, winning the District 11 4-H Sweepstakes Award.
Texas Tea Cup is awarded to the top livestock judges in the state. Kaisley Janecka was second overall, Abraham McBride was third overall, Tatum Fritsch was fifth overall, and Holden Holub was sixth overall.
The outstanding member awards are selected on the basis of excellence in club, county, and district 4-H activities and growth and excellence within individual projects.
Outstanding Juniors members are third-fifth graders, and Outstanding In termediates are sixth-eighth graders.
Both Intermediates and Juniors com plete an application and go through an interview process.
This year’s Outstanding Juniors are Kennedy Kaspar and Madison Moreau, both of the Fayetteville 4-H Club.
This year’s Outstanding Intermediates are Adalyn Carrales of the Flatonia 4-H Club, Lilly Herzog of the Winchester 4-H Club, Sawyer Mau of the Fayetteville 4-H Club and Taylyn Newton of the Rising Stars 4-H Club.
The "I Dare You" Award is presented to youth who excel in character, well-balanced personal development and leadership. Winners are Tori Newton of the Rising Stars 4-H Club and Logan Poncik of the Fayetteville 4-H Club.
The Silver Star Award is an award that is a stepping stone up to the Gold Star Award. This award signifies ex cellence, hard work, and good communication skills. Silver Star winners are Kandon Kaspar of the Fayetteville 4-H Club and Brealey Nieto of the Flatonia 4-H Club.
The Gold Star is the highest award that can be presented at the county level. This year’s Gold Star winners are Harper Mau of the Fayetteville 4-H Club and Elena Supak of the La Grange 4-H Club.
Commissioners Harvey Berckenhoff, Jason McBroom, and Clint Sternadel presented the outstanding intermediate and junior awards as well as the senior awards.
