Deputy obtains video to track truck driver who disregarded school bus

On Aug. 28 at 3:59 p.m., Dep - uty Joe Gonzales received notifi cation from Lt. David Beyer of a semi-truck and trailer disregarding a school bus on FM 609.

Gonzales received a photo of the back of the tractor trailer and was asked to look into the incident as best as he could.

He zoomed in and was able to identify the state and license plate of the trailer. He was also able to identify the trailer number.

Gonzales then researched the company identified as A2B Syn chronized Logistics online and was able to find a phone number.

After several extensions Gonzales was able to locate the extension for the over the road (OTR) trucking division. He spoke with the OTR supervisor who coincidentally had the safety supervi- sor in his office.

Gonzales worked closely with with the safety supervisor to locate and identify the truck and trailer as well as the video from the tractor truck Gonzales was given the video from the company and observed the Flatonia Independant School District school bus stopped on FM 609 unloading a child with the school buses red lights activated and both stop signs extended.

Gonzales observed the tractor truck pass the stopped school bus at a speed of 68 mph and slowed down to a speed of 52 mph after passing the school bus. Gonzales was able to identify the driver and has sent a citation in the mail for disregarding a school bus loading/unloading children.
