Sealy football dominates on homecoming night vs Cameron Yoe

SEALY — The Sealy High School football team took care of business Sept. 5 at TJ Mills Stadium by beating Cameron Yoe High School by a final score of 64-0.

Sealy had control throughout the entire game and didn’t let up even through the final parts of the contest.

“It’s good to get a lot of kids in the ball game,” said Sealy head football coach Clint Finley. “We got a lot of guys that practice their tails off. It was good to get up and get everybody in the ball game to get a look at everybody and give everybody a chance to get out there and show what they can do. It helps us to build depth as we get through the season.”

Tigers senior quarterback Kane Killough led the way with the offense, but was able to rest most of the game as Sealy rested the starters early about midway through the second quarter.

“Really those boys up front today,” Killough said. “It’s nothing but a testament to them and how hard they work everyday. We’re averaging 15 yards a carry, probably, so we had a bunch of big runs and that’s all thanks to them up front.”

Sealy didn’t hold back and took a 50—0 lead at halftime on a bunch of run plays, with one being a pitch play from Killough to junior running back Romeo Castillo for the first score of the game.

The Tigers took some time to score in the second half and put more points on the board at the 4:54 mark in the third quarter with a 44-yard touchdown run up the middle from junior running back Javion Johnson.

After running the clock out for most of the second half, the Tigers scored one more time with 50 seconds to go in the ball game with a quarterback run up the middle for 77 yards by junior Parker Vesley to make it 64-- 0. This would be the final score of the game for Sealy to cruise to a 64-0 victory.
