BASTROP — Bluebonnet Electric Cooperative members have reported a recent increase in attempt - ed phone scams. These fraudulent activities include scammers posing as Blue bonnet representatives over the phone, claiming mem ber accounts are past due, threatening same-day dis -
connection and asking for immediate payment.
The fraudulent calls are coming from 512-5213002, and the scammers direct members to call 888216-3973 to make a pay -
ment.
Bluebonnet will nev- er call asking for immedi - ate payment, threatening a same-day disconnect. If a Bluebonnet member has not received a reminder in the mail or a courtesy call about their account, and someone claiming to represent Blue -
bonnet calls demanding an immediate payment, do not
pay.
