Fayette County Country Music Club presents annual Tribute to Hank Williams

WYATTALEMAN

LA GRANGE — This month is the opry’s annual tribute to the late and great Hank Williams Sr., who would have turned 102 years old this month. Portraying Hank Williams, the opry is proud to have young Wyatt Aleman to sing and play songs by the late and great Hank Williams.

Aleman is a 20-year-old from Harwood, who loves to play the fiddle and the steel guitar. He loves playing traditional country music and Western Swing music. Two of Aleman’s most influential artists are Hank Williams Sr. and Bob Wills.

Besides playing fiddle and steel guitar, he also taught himself to play upright bass, guitar, drums, keyboard and mandolin.

If that isn’t enough, he also attempts to play his grandmother’s accordion.

In 2024, he was inducted into The Cowtown Society of Western Music as “Rising Artist of the Year”. He was also nominated as “Young Artist of the Year”, by the AWA, Academy of Western Artists, in 2016, 2017, 2018 and 2022.

He won the title of “Young Artist of the Year” in 2018.

Aleman has had the privilege to play at many different venues such as the Davis Theater and the Hank Williams Museum.

Now he has been invited back to celebrate the 102nd birthday celebration of Hank Williams, on Sept. 13, to perform again and open up for Jimmy Fortune. Another honor for Aleman was that he got to perform a show alongside of Herb Remington. Remington was the steel player for Bob Wills.

Aleman had dedicated the whole show to Remington. This past June, Aleman premiered on the Penny Gilley Show on RFD-TV, and this December, he will air on KDCG-TV and Radio Show in Louisiana, for a full hour show. It will also air on KBON 101.1 FM “Swamp and Roll,” and can be seen on YouTube as well.

In-between his travels. Aleman works very hard trying to get his music studio opened so he can teach music lessons.
