The Faith Academy Knights had a tough matchup last Friday night against the Fort Bend Chargers. The Knights failed to move the ball like in previous weeks. Dyllan Olivares went 11 for 19 passing for 121 yards. Seniors Jackson Dunn and Joshua Stark lead the Knights in rushing. Dunn ran for 26 yards on 6 carries, and Stark had 19 yards on 5 carries. Dunn and Stark also had 4 catches each for 48 and 41 yards, respectively. Junior Wyatt Davis also had 2 catches for 16 yards.
Defensively, the Knights struggled to stop the run against the big and strong offensive line of the Chargers. The Chargers continued to follow blocks and run the ball down the field, with the Knights missing a lot of tackles. “We just didn’t have ourselves ready to play. They came out and hit us in the mouth, and we never got it going on Of- fense. Defensively, we flat out didn’t make enough plays”, says Head Coach Trey Carter. The Chargers would go on to win the game with a score of 45-0.
This was the 2nd toughest loss under the helm of Coach Carter.
The Knights go into week four with two offweeks in a row, with a cancellation of a team from Katy Faith West. Faith Academy will continue its season in week six, as they travel to Waco to take on Valor Prep. This will be the rematch of last season, as the highest ever scoring game in Texas High School Football history. The Knights prevailed in that contest 148-112, just a year ago at SAB Stadium. This will be the last contest before FA starts its district play. The Knights will bounce back, and Carter will have them ready to play coming off the two offweeks. GO KNIGHTS!!!
