Welfare check turns into arrest of female

MULDOON — Fayette County Sheriff Keith Korenek reports that on Sunday morning around 10:51 a.m., Deputies Joe Gonzales and Cody Williams were dispatched to Guettermann Ehler Road near Farm-to-Market Road 609 in the Muldoon area on a welfare concern involving a female in a vehicle.

Upon arrival, Williams saw a female passed out behind the wheel of a vehicle that did not belong at the parked location. Williams also found a loaded syringe in her lap and several clear baggies, which allegedly contained cocaine and meth.

Gonzales arrived later, and the female was asked to exit the vehicle, to which she complied.

She was identified as Rachelle Gutierrez, 58, of Smithville and was placed under arrest for possession of a controlled substance.

She was transported to the Dan R. Beck Justice Center in La Grange and released

to jail staff.
