AC FAIR SENIOR CITIZEN DAY SET
BELLVILLE — Save the date for Wednesday, Oct. 8 to attend the Austin County Fair Senior Citizens Day Event at the Austin County Fair Convention & Expo Center at the fairgrounds in Bellville. The entry fee is $3. Come enjoy music, a sit down lunch, bingo and a chance at a door prize. Doors open at 10:30 a.m. until they run out of bingo prizes.
SENIORS TOGETHER ANNUAL FUNDRAISER
COLUMBUS — Seniors Together will hold its annual fundraiser featuring the famous Lion burgers cooked by the Columbus Lions Club. The drive-thru only event will be held Monday, Oct. 6 from 5 to 7 p.m. at the Columbus Veterans Hall in Columbus. Tickets for the hot-off-thegrill burger and chips are $10 and may be purchased at the Columbus Chamber of Commerce office, the Banner Press Newspaper office, or by calling/texting John Jones at 979-733-6610. Only 200 tickets will be sold. Seniors Together is a program initiative of Three Crosses Ministries, a 501(c)(3). Help keep this seniors’ event free.
MENTZ PICNIC TO BE HELD
MENTZ — St. Roch Catholic Church will hold its 171st annual Mentz Picnic Sunday, Oct. 5. Sacrifice of the Mass will begin at 10 a.m. Barbecue beef, pork and sausage will be served at 11 a.m. at $15 for dine in and plates-to-go, and children 10 and under $10. Hamburgers will be available at 2 p.m. Live auction will begin at 1 p.m. The event will include plenty of kids activites, country store, bingo and raffle. There will be a dance inside from 1 to 5 p.m.

SEALY — The Lions Sealy Dance Club is having a dance on Saturday, Oct. 4, at the Sealy American Legion Hall in Sealy. The Scott Wilkinson and EZ Country Band will be providing live music from 7:30 to 11 p.m. The public is always welcome.
CHS CLASS OF '75 TO HOLD REUNION COLUMBUS — It’s time to celebrate Columbus High School 50 years of memories, laughter, and friendship.
Join classmates at the homecoming football game, Friday, Oct. 3 at 7:30 p.m. at Memorial Stadium in Columbus.
The Class of 1975 reunion will be held Saturday, Oct. 4 at 3:30 p.m. until we’re done reminiscing at Pilsner’s Café in Alleyton. The cost is $15 per person (includes chicken fried steak dinner, and expenses). A cash bar for beer, wine, or set-ups will be available. Door prize donations are appreciated. SCARECROW FUN RUN PLANNED WINCHESTER - Join the Winchester Area Civic Association (WACA) on Saturday, Oct. 18 beginning at 8:30 a.m. for the 2nd Annual Scarecrow Scholarship Fun Run. ST. ANTHONY TO HOLD PARISH PICNIC COLUMBUS — St. Anthony Catholic Church will hold its annual parish picnic Sunday, Oct. 12 at Columbus Hall in Columbus. A fried chicken and sausage meal will be served at $14 per plate, drive-thru 11 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. and dine in 11 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. The big country auction will start at 1 p.m. Silent auction will be from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. Other activities incluce bin go, plant walk, gift card walk, sportsman’s wheel, cake walk and country store. Other activities are kid’s games, fish pond, cookie monster, kids' can draw and ring toss.
Music throughout the day will be provided by Donnie Wavra and The Hi-Lighters. Tickets for a drawing at $10 each or six for $50 can be purchased from any parishioner or call the church office at 979-732-2562.

GOP TO MEET
SEALY — The Austin County Republican Party will meet today (Thursday, Oct. 2) at 7 p.m. at Tony’s Restaurant in Sealy. The meeting is open to all republicans in the county. This month will be concentrating on the activities at the Austin County Fair, upcoming November elections and the revelant information.
PARISH FALL FESTIVAL TO BE HELD EAGLE LAKE — The Parish of the Nativity in Eagle Lake will hold its annual Fall Festival Sunday, Oct. 19. Eucharist in spanish will be at 8 a.m. and english at 10 a.m. The barbecue chicken and sausage meal will be served from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. at $14 per plate (curb ser vice will be available). A live auction will begin at 1 p.m. Other activities include drawing after the auction, food booths, cake and plant walks, country store, kids games and soccer tournament.
HOLY CROSS BAZAAR SLATED EAST BERNARD — The Holy Cross Parish in East Bernard will hold a bazaar Sunday, Oct. 12 at the Riverside Hall in East Bernard. The barbecue beef, chicken and sausage meal with homemade dressing will be served inside at 11 a.m. and drive-thru plates available from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Hamburgers will be served at 3 p.m. The event will include indoor and outdoor games from 11:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. There will also be plenty of pastries, refreshments and country store items. LGVF TO HOLD FUNDRAISER LA GRANGE — The La Grange Volunteer Fire De-
partment (LGVF) will hold its 40th annual fundraiser benefit fish fry, drive thru only, Sunday, Oct. 19 from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the KC Hall in La Grange. The cost of the meal is a free will donation. The event is co-sponsored by the Knights of Columbus and proceeds will go toward the purchase of new equipment.
