Eagle Lake community banker elected to Independent Bankers Association of Texas Board of Directors

The First National Bank of Eagle Lake’s Leslie Sedlock Holds Leadership Position with Largest State Community Banking Association in the Nation

EAGLE LAKE — The Independent Bankers Association of Texas (IBAT) announced the addition of Leslie Sedlock, president of The First National Bank of Eagle Lake, to its board of directors for a three-year term of 2025-28.

Sedlock was elected to this position during the association’s 51st annual convention held Sept. 2023 in Fort Worth.

Sedlock has been with The First National Bank of Eagle Lake for more than 15 years, holding leadership roles including executive vice president, comptroller, chief operations officer, and sec retary of the board of directors. She joined the bank in 2010 as executive assistant to the president/ ceo, was promoted to vice president in 2012, senior vice president and executive management team member in 2013, and executive vice president in 2019.

Sedlock began her banking career at NewFirst National Bank in El Campo, where she spent nearly four years as an accounting specialist. She earned a bachelor of business administration in accounting from Texas A&M University in 2006 and is a graduate of the Bank Operations Institute. A Garwood native, Sedlock still resides there with her husband, James, and their son, Jase.

In her role on the IBAT board, Sedlock joins new directors Aaron Flencher of Citizens State Bank in Somerville, Wade Easley of First National Bank in Hereford, Blain Rumage of Jacksboro National Bank, Ralph Riddel III of The First National Bank of Aspermont, Les Robbins of Avana Bank in Abilene, and Greg Jackson of Cornerstone Capital Bank SSB in Dallas.

Austin-based IBAT represents almost 5,000 banks and branches in more than 700 Texas communities.
