Tip leads to stolen trailer and much more

COLUMBUS – The Colorado County Sher- iff's Office received a re port from an individual on Sept. 30, who stated that his trailer had been stolen and was pinging at a property located in the 1100 block of County Road 154 in Co lumbus. Deputies responded to the location, successfully recovered the stolen trailer and detained five individu als who were residing on the property.

The Colorado County Sheriff's Office Criminal Investigation Division obtained a search warrant for the property. During the execution of this warrant, they recovered two additional trailers, a Harley Davidson motorcycle, and a laptop that were all reported stolen from Harris County. It was also discovered that the individuals living on the property were stealing electricity by tampering with the electrical box and meter owned by San Bernard Electric Cooperative.

In addition, a pickup truck, two more trailers, narcotics, six firearms, and various electronics were seized. Two females and a child who were also present were later released and the child was referred to Child Protective Services.

Arrested and charged were Chad Lester, 49, of Houston, who was charged with unlawful possession of a firearm by a felon (a third-degree felony) and two counts of possession of dangerous drugs (Class A misdemeanors), Christian Perez Forcelledo, 23, of Houston, was charged with theft of property valued be- tween $2,500 and $30,000 (a state jail felony) and Phillip Marek, 37, of Katy, was charged with theft of property valued between $30,000 and $150,000 (a third-degree felony), possession of a controlled substance in Penalty Group 1 (a state jail felony), and criminal mischief (a third-degree felony).
